The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new, dynamic version of NORDCAN, the analytical tool and database that enables the comparison of cancer statistics for the Nordic countries. NORDCAN 2.0 is an exemplar of a long-standing and highly productive programme of work between the Association of the Nordic Cancer Registries (ANCR) and IARC, supported by the Nordic Cancer Union (NCU).
The online features of NORDCAN 2.0 enable interactive graphical and tabular explorations of the cancer patterns and trends in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. The database includes statistics on almost 60 cancer entities and spans more than 70 years of data, from 1943, when the first cancer registry was established in Denmark, to the latest year available.
