IARC and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region open an exhibition of photographs showcasing professions at IARC

On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, 11 February 2026, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in partnership with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, is opening the “60 Years, 60 Jobs, 60 Portraits” exhibition. The event and the exhibition are taking place at the Hôtel de Région de Lyon, in Lyon, France.

This exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of professions that contribute to the Agency’s mission. The photographs on display portray 35 women who contribute every day to advancing research on cancer prevention at IARC.

As part of IARC’s 60th anniversary year, a series of events has been organized, starting on 7 May 2025. It will conclude with an international scientific conference, “Cancer Research into Action”, on 19–21 May 2026. The exhibition will continue to travel after the 60th anniversary conference.

This exhibition is supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, which is proud to highlight the women who, every day, carry out their professions in the service of our health.
